Westerville’s COTA//Plus Service

When the opportunity arose for the city to invest in COTA//Plus, an on-demand bus service in central Ohio, it was exciting to realize the opportunities this would create for the residents of Westerville and those visiting the city. I became a data nerd as the service began operating and I could see firsthand the many ways transit could help the city.

E. Main Street Bus Rapid Transit Pilot Project

Recently, I have become involved in the East Main Street Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project that is being developed in Columbus. This project is serving as a pilot project for ODOT to examine our approach for future BRT’s in Ohio. It has been challenging since the project includes a road diet and changes to the corridor that make many people anxious. The project has led to a lot of discussion about zoning, mode shift, and place-making for the area along the corridor.
