Uptown Smart Parking

In 2020, Westerville decided to take the opportunity to install sensors in the pavement of 360 parking spots in Uptown parking lots. Over the years, a frequent complaint that there was not enough parking in the area led to this effort. An app that is available for download provides live updates of the availability of spots. This data is collected and compiled through the City’s Transparency Hub. The data was brought into Tableau to tell the story of the occupancy throughout the day. A study was completed to report to City leadership to provide how the parking lots were serving the area.
