I’ve been in Salt Lake City since Sunday evening and I must say that it’s been a whirlwind! The first day I was there I spent the majority of the day at the Family History Library. Genealogists tease that the library is the genealogist’s Mecca, but I must say it really is quite the destination for many. I spent a good portion of the day working on editing articles for Going In-Depth magazine (which reminds me… there is a sale going on!). Then I had fun recording a Periscope of a partial tour of the library. You can watch for yourself, below. I was then “dragged” in to participate in a Mondays with Myrt Google HangOut.

And here’s the HangOut- tune in around 1:45 to see my appearance!
Then our dear friend Janet Hovorka of Family ChartMasters took us to the Great Salt Lake! It was a minivan full of genealogists and it was quite a lot of fun. Not only did we get to see a beautiful location, but we had many great discussions on the challenges as small businesses in the genealogy world. Janet recently began a group called the Genealogy Business Alliance to help support those who are businesses who frequently exhibit at conferences and so forth. If you wan to know more about this, I recommend you read her blog post.

Wednesday was Innovator Summit Day. It was so much fun! There are many fantastic up and coming companies competing for the grand prize offered by #RootsTech.
